Get involved!

Art-Based Programs

We offer comprehensive training in various art forms, including Fashion Design, Illustration, Drawing, Painting, and Dance. Our expert instructors guide students to hone their artistic skills, fostering creativity, and empowering them to become confident in expressing their unique voices.

Pinay Mentorship

To provide inspiration and guidance, we connect participants with Pinay role models and mentors from the creative arts industry. Through our "Kaya Mo Yan" Mentorship Program, mentees are paired with established professionals who offer valuable insights and support to succeed in their creative journey.

Community Events

Our vibrant community events and art gala showcase the artworks created through our programs. Guests have the opportunity to purchase art, with 100% of sales directly supporting the artists, encouraging sustainable growth in the artistic community.

Building Cultural Identity

We empower participants to challenge cultural assumptions and foster a deeper understanding of their cultural identity. By building relationships with their elders and embracing decolonialism, they develop a stronger sense of self and cultural pride.

Art & School Partnerships

We collaborate with schools and educational institutions, offering a decolonial framework curriculum that integrates art as a medium for expression and healing. By hiring art graduates as instructors, we create a mutually beneficial experience for both students and instructors.

Enhancing Academic Success

Artistic expression has a positive impact on academic success. We encourage students to explore their creativity and artistic potential, knowing that artistic empowerment contributes to overall academic achievement.

Grow their creative confidence

We offer engaging and enriching art programs for the youth, fostering their creative abilities and self-expression. Through workshops and hands-on experiences, we encourage young Pinay individuals to discover their artistic passions and talents.

Empowering next generation Pinays

Our dedication to Pinay girls and young adults is rooted in the belief that sisterhood and unity create strong leaders. We celebrate each other's unique qualities, fostering a sense of togetherness rather than competition.

The money we raise will be used towards our start up costs, marketing materials for promotional booths / events and hiring art educators for our art programs.

FAQs

  • Pin-eye-sphere

  • Pinay/ˈpiːnai/ feminine, redirected from pinoy, in which is a colloquial version for self-reference to Filipinos. Pinoy was first used in the U.S. in 1924 by Dr. J. Juliano.

  • Sisterhood builds women leaders and heroes. Recognizing each other for the innate qualities versus us being in competition with one another is truly the doorway into our totality. Many of us have collective wounding that goes deeper than us just being girls or women; its recognizing that many of us are crying for deeper connections trying to unfold a colonized psyche.

More facts: Filipino and Asian-American communities are growing in California and across the US. Based on the 2019 consensus, Los Angeles alone has over 500k Filipinos, 300k in San Francisco, 200k in San Diego and Riverside counties. Because our communities are now having a higher percentage of Filipinos, its important to find connection and representation within the communities they live in. Growing up in Oxnard, Founder, Jen found zero support in her community for youth, let alone for WOC.

Why only Pinay? There isn’t enough representation, especially in Ventura County. Ventura County’s ethnic groups are half white and half hispanic, leaving a small percentage of that being filipinos. We are the third largest ethnic group in the county and have no spaces that are a cultural match. Pro-Pinay spaces help our young Filipina girls heal in spaces where they feel safe & comfortable to share trauma.
